This exclusive and luxurious 6-day, 5-night in-country photography workshop will take us to the stunning island of Mauritius in the middle of the Indian Ocean - from May 20-25, 2024.

Your Daily Itinerary
Here is the high level itinerary of our time together to give you a taste - Our first two mornings will include in-person photography lectures and subsequent days will include daily photo reviews, critiques, and workshops. Every single day, we will get to work on our craft.

Day 1 - Arrival into Mauritius
Meet your guide and driver at the airport and transfer to hotel. This will be a relaxing day of swimming and getting to enjoy the property. Meet your fellow travelers over a wonderful dinner. (D)
Day 2 - Culture
Cultural immersion including visiting local markets, experiencing traditional lifestyles and photographing people and places. (B/L/D)
Day 3 - Outdoors + Spa
Outdoor and landscape photography in nature reserves including activities such as buggy rides, ziplining, and more. We will finish off the day with spa and wellness activities. (B/L/D)
Day 4 - Island Hopping
Day spent exploring different islands such as Ile aux Cerfs and more. Lots of seascape photography with great seafood experiences. (B/L/D)
Day 5 - Food
Cooking class and photographing chefs in action as well as portraiture. Learning more about the local food culture and visually documenting. (B/L/D)
Day 6 - Return home
Relaxed day including transfer to the airport to catch your flight home. (B)
Meet your award-winning instructor
Award-winning author and travel photographer Lola Akinmade has dispatched from 70+ countries for various publications.
She is a 2022 Hasselblad Heroine and 2018 Bill Muster Travel Photographer of the Year.
Her work has appeared in National Geographic, BBC, CNN, The Guardian, Travel + Leisure, New York Times, Travel Channel, Adventure.com, The Sunday Times, AFAR, Lonely Planet, Fodor’s, amongst others. She has collaborated with high profile commercial brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Dove, Intrepid Travel, and Electrolux.
She was featured in a vignette called “Through The Lens” which aired on National Geographic Channels across the globe.

Who is this experience for?
- Beginner to intermediate photographers who are ready to improve their travel photography and visual storytelling skills. If you only have a smartphone, that is perfectly fine too.
- If you're a professional photographer and would like to experience Mauritius with us, you're also welcome.

Deposits and Payments: A deposit of 30% per person is required to secure reservation.
If cancelled 60+ days before the experience, the deposit will be fully refunded. No reservation is considered confirmed until a deposit is received.
Full payment must be received no later than April 1, 2024.

Life happens and sometimes cancellations occur. Here is our cancellation policy for this experience:
- 60+ days prior to departure: Full refund.
- 35+ days prior to departure: 50% of total trip cost will be refunded
- Within 35 days prior to arrival: No refund
- Once we have started to provide our service from the point of your arrival in Mauritius, no refunds will be made for unused trip arrangements for any reason.
- Refunds will not be made for no-shows, early departures, or unused services.
